by Brian G. Daigle
A journeyman through travels long To find his home, to find his song, A captive of the open seas, Driven by love's relentless breeze. And yet his heart is homeward bound, Despite his passage through various towns. Her beauty beckons each new dawn His feet to trod and search beyond. He knows her song, her cathedral, her steets, her ways. He knows her rhythms, her soul, her passions, her gaze. All else in the odyssey is but sign posts and shadows Which lead to the home where his heart will fully know. Her gates to open, her walls to guide, The fullness of love to let inside. His might to build, his ambition to care, When home becomes his breathful air.
